About Our Counselors
Lauren Cunningham, MSW, LCSW, J.A.
Treatment Approach
As a Jungian analyst I see children and adults in my practice for depth-oriented psychotherapy and analysis. I use a relational model, which focuses on feelings that come up between myself and my client as we work on the outer and inner concerns the client brings to the hour. Symbolic images that come from dreams, sandplay and art are integrated into the analytic work to explore deeper meanings and to elucidate concerns that are brought into the hour. I use play therapy as appropriate for children, pre-school through adolescence, and offer materials such as a castle and doll house, puppets, musical instruments and games. I believe in a growth rather than a pathology oriented process, viewing problems-in-living as an opportunity to further self-development, growth, and awareness.
